Jimmy Gadomski

Jimmy Gadomski’s passion for diving has taken him on expeditions around the world and into a wide range of challenging maritime environments. As an experienced captain, technical diver, instructor, cinematographer, and expedition support specialist, he has played key roles in shipwreck exploration, underwater documentation, survey work, and marine operations.

One of Jimmy’s most notable projects was the discovery and identification of the SS Pulaski off the coast of North Carolina. While serving as captain of the Blue Water Rose, a marine salvage vessel outfitted for technical diving, Jimmy recovered a candlestick holder engraved with “Pulaski,” helping confirm the wreck’s identity. The site has since produced historically significant artifacts, including coins, china, pocket watches, and cargo from the early 1800s, with donations made for preservation and public display at the Ships of the Sea Museum in Savannah, Georgia.

Jimmy has also worked extensively in underwater cinematography, photogrammetry, and exploration. Alongside his friend and dive partner Mike Barnette, he documented newly discovered and rarely explored wreck sites for the History Channel series Bermuda Triangle: Into Cursed Waters. During that work, the team discovered a segment of the Space Shuttle Challenger, earning recognition from NASA and international media. Jimmy’s documentation work also includes the discovery and 3D modeling of a Douglas AD-5 Skyraider off Miami, as well as shipwreck and cave documentation projects with organizations such as Karst Underwater Research.

In addition to expedition work, Jimmy is an advanced trimix instructor with TDI and teaches technical diving throughout South Florida. Through Florida Technical Diving, he helps provide trips, rentals, fills, and logistics for advanced divers and local dive operations. He has also designed and built high-pressure fill stations for dive shops, research vessels, yachts, and remote expedition use, while continuing to support commercial diving, marine research, and underwater documentation projects throughout the region.
